Now that Obama has stepped into office shit seems to be going crazy in this country, it seems that society is revisiting some laws and regulations to find a way to boost the economy. It is pretty obvious that the answer to saving our economy lies not in your wallet but in your bong: that's right, weed. Medical marijuana seems to be succeeding here in California with the exception of the DEA occasionally shutting down dispensaries and overriding Proposition 215 (the exemption of criminal penalties for the medical use of marijuana in California). Prop 215 allows you to gain a prescription/club card for marijuana from a doctor ($150 from a "pot doc"), go to one of the hundreds of marijuana dispensaries with your card, and hand select your medication in various qualities (a mere $55 for the finest OG in all the land) and forms (edibles, pills, cremes, or just the normal plant). The news that the DEA is ending raids on marijuana dispensaries is a great step towards legalization. To read the entire article from MSNBC on the raids click the link provided:
DEA to End Medical Marijuana Raids
In that article is a fact that I didn't know about our country. It turns out that "thirteen states allow the cultivation, sale and use of medical marijuana." WHAT!?! Are you kidding me!? 13 states are allowed to fucking deal with weed. It seems quite falty to me that in a place like Maryland or Arizona (where possession is a felony) you can literally get jail time for having a gram of marijuana on you or even near you and then you go to a place like California and be carrying an eigth and not even be punished! Not even arrested! This is a plant. A plant less harmful than alcohol but has been made to look like the worst thing you could possibly do by the government (see http://www.abovetheinfluence.com/the-ads/). But legalization would be a big step and might not even be the best solution for those who have fallen in love with Mary Jane. If it was legalized it would most likely be monitered and taxed like cigarettes making it susceptible to unhealthy chemicals and high prices. This however may be what our economy is looking for. Even the California Legislator is on board! He introduced a bill to legalize marijuana in California claiming that it would provide over $1 billion anually for the state that is desperately in need of economic support. California Legislator Sees Benefit in Legalizing Pot
To summarize:
1) Our economy is fucked and weed is the only thing that can save it (how's that for a Stimulus Package)
2) The DEA is stopping raids on medical MJ...a move in the right direction!
3) Surprisingly 13 states are chill with Marijuana - COOL! Vacation spots...MUST.
4) California is moving to legalize...good plan.
Personally, I would love to see MJ legalized in the next 8 years. Let's see what Obama can really do. Marijuana legalization?: JFLACK APPROVES.

At some point in the early 1900s the US government stopped referring to pot by its scientific name, cannabis, and began referring to it as marijuana. Why? Because marijuana sounds spanish and they wanted people to associate pot with mexicans. or something "dirty."
